Four children dead in Uttar Pradesh accident

Lucknow: Four school children died and four others were injured when the school van they were travelling in was hit by a roadways bus in Uttar Pradesh Wednesday morning, the police said.

The accident took place in Kutubsher locality in Saharanpur, some 350 km from here, when the van was ferrying the children to school.

"The bus belonged to Haryana Roadways and there were eight children in the van. The children were seven to 11 years old and two of them are in critical condition," Inspector B.N. Parashar of Kutubsher police station told IANS.

"The bus was going to Ambala and we have arrested its driver," he added.
