Thursday, December 25, 2008 13:21 [IST]

New Delhi: Two shops were gutted Thursday in a fire in a south Delhi market. There were no casualties, officials said.

According to fire brigade officials, the blaze broke out in shop number 24 and 25, which sold electric fittings, in Lajpat Rai market in Lajpat Nagar.

“The fire engulfed two shops and about seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the flames,” an official said, adding that they were trying to ascertain the cause of the fire.
