Pune: Christmas celebrations in the city were subdued with church goers offering prayers for victims of the Mumbai terror attacks.
After the midnight mass and carol singing, some churches in the Christian-dominated cantonment area switched off illuminations even as people raised lighted candles and read out Jesus Christ's message of love, compassion and forgiveness. A marked fall in the number of customary Christmas parties in hotels and resorts was reported in response to an appeal from the Christian clergy.
