Bhopal: The 18th annual Bhopal Utsav mela got off to a colourful start at the T T Nagar Dusshera Maidan here. A large number of balloons were released to mark the opening of the mela last evening.
The Bhopal Utsav Mela began in a small way 18 years ago and the first edition had only 70 stalls. Now the number has risen to 450. Last year, the Mela had a turnover of Rs 90 Crore and this amount is expected to rise this time. A separate food area has also been set up in the premises for the benefit of those visiting the mela.
