Pune: Five persons were killed and six injured in a head-on collision between a car and truck on Pune-Solapur highway, police said today.

The mishap took place last night when the Pune-bound truck ploughed into it near Yavat village, around 30 km from here, they said.

The victims in the Sumo were travelling to Latur, they added.
