Five of family burnt to death in Bihar

Patna: Five people, including four children, were burnt to death in a Bihar village, a police officer said here Monday.

A Dalit woman and her four children died late Sunday night after a fire broke out in their hut at the Ranipur Mushari village in Nalanda district, about 100 km from here.

"They died after a burning lamp fell and fire engulfed the room when they were asleep," the officer said.

The dead have been identified as Jeera Devi, 32, Meena Kumari, 7, Komal Kumari, 5, Dorman Kumari, 3, and two-year-old Satyendra alias Budhi Manjhi.
