Bilaspur: In a daring broad-day light loot, two motor-cycle borne miscreants killed a security guard and looted Rs 14 lakh cash from SBI officials from the ATM near Shakti Railway station in Shakti, 250 kms from here on Monday.
P S Bara, SP, Janjgir-Champa said that the two miscreants fired at the security guard accompanying SBI officials to fill cash in the ATM. As the guard fell, the miscreants snatched his loaded rifle and then snatched Rs 14 lakh cash from the officials and fled from the scene.
Bara said that a police team, which is on search for the miscreants, has recovered the looted gun on Malkharoda road, six kms from Shakti.
The SP said that all the exit points of the city have been sealed and the police have started a manhunt for the miscreants.
Police said that the deceased guard has been identified as Geetaram Rathore.
