Another CPI-M worker stabbed near Thalassery

Kannur: A day after a CPI-M loyalist was stabbed near Thalassery, yet another party worker sustained serious injuries when a group of suspected RSS-BJP activists stabbed him near Panur in the district, police said.

The 29-year old Sreejith, said to be working as Secretary of a local Cooperative Society, was stabbed by the group as he was moving in his bike at Valangad under the Panur police station limits this evening.

The CPI-M worker was shifted to a private hospital in Kozhikode after he was first taken to a hospital in Thalassery with serious injuries on his legs and hands.

Additional police have been rushed to the spot to monitor law and order in the wake of the fresh attack, police said adding that the situation in the area was normal.

A CPI-M worker Jayaprakash was stabbed by a group of alleged RSS-BJP men at Moonam Mile near Thalassery yesterday.
