TTM workers to hold protests state-wide
Wednesday, December 31, 2008 16:11 [IST]
Tiruchirappalli: Tamil Nadu Toddy Movement (TTM) workers will hold protests state-wide on January 21 demanding that ban on tapping of toddy be lifted.

Tamil Nadu has the largest number of palmyrah trees in the country. It is unfortunate that tapping of toddy is banned in the state. TTM activists will tap toddy in selected groves and palmyrah clusters and carry them in pots for sales in front of the respective district Collectorates, C Nallasami, Convener, TTM, told reporters here.

The TTM demanded that the state government stop selling of IMFL, Nallasami, who is also All India Secretary of Indian Agriculturists Federation.
