Ahmednagar:  A gang of dacoits looted cash and articles worth Rs one lakh from a house in Nirmalnagar area here, police said today.

The gang broke open the door of Namdev Savant's house and looted articles including gold ornaments and a mobile set, they said.

Savant, who tried to prevent the theft recived serious injuries when he was roughed up by the gang, police said adding the hunt is on for the thieves.
