Raipur: A police officer was arrested for allegedly cheating a youth for more than four lakh rupees by appeasing to get him a government job.
Two others named in the FIR are absconding and police have started a manhunt for them.
According to Rajnandgaon police, the trainee police officer Santosh Borker was absconding since a complaint was registered against him in October this year. A police team nabbed him from his relative's residence in Raipur on late Tuesday evening.
Borkar was arrested on the basis of a complaint by one Vinod of sector I, Bhilai.
In his complaint, Vinod had alleged that Borker along with one Vaishnav and his wife had assured him to get a government job for him if he (Vinod) pays five lakh rupees.
Police officials told that Vinod lodged a complaint with the police on October this year as he suspected foul play by Santosh and his accomplices. By this time Vinod had already paid more than four lakh rupees to them. Since then both Santosh and Vaishnav were on the run.
A team of Rajnandgaon police arrested Vinod from his relative's residence in Raipur on Tuesday evening. He was later produced before a magistrate who released him on bail. The police is now on a haunt for Vaishnav couple. Source : PTI
