Jaipur: Congress MLA Dipinder Singh Shekhawat is likely to be the Speaker of the 30th Rajasthan legislative assembly, which will begin tomorrow.

The election of the speaker will be held on January 2 after the oath ceremony of all the 200-elected members in the new House, party sources said.

Congress having the majority in the assembly, Shekhawat's election for the post seem to be certain.

Shekhawat, who was the agriculture minister in the previous Gehlot government, is elected from Sri Madhopur assembly constituency.
