Shekhawat files nomination paper for speaker post

Jaipur:  A congress MLA Dipendera Singh Shekhawat today filed his nomination papers for the post of speaker in the Rajasthan legislative assembly here.

Shekhawat, who was elected from Sri Madhopur assembly constituency, submitted his papers to the assembly secretary H R Kuri.

His name was proposed by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and seconded by the leader of opposition Vasundhar Raje.

The election of speaker will be held tomorrow and Shekhawat likely to be elected unopposed.
