Islamabad: Unhappy with the chill in Indo-Pak ties, former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif today said the PPP-led government should try to normalise bilateral relations and sought an end to the "blame-game" over the Mumbai attack.
The opposition PML-N leader said his party was ready to extend all cooperation to the Pakistan Government in improving relations with India.
"The relations with India should improve and we are ready to extend support to the Government on this issue," Sharif told reporters here.
He said there should be an end to the blame game between the two countries in the wake of the Mumbai terror attacks.
"We should stop this blame game. The situation is really disappointing and we are ready to cooperate with the Government," he said.
Identifying poor economic condition, rising prices of petroleum products and growing unemployment as key challenges facing the nation, the former Prime Minister appealed to the government to put its efforts in building a strong Pakistan.
India has blamed the Pakistan-based elements, including the LeT, for the Mumbai attacks. It has asked Pakistan to act against these elements and to deliver on past commitments to not allow terrorists to operate from its soil.
Pakistan has said it is waiting for India to provide evidence and information to push forward its own investigation into the Mumbai incident.
