Lucknow: Six men have been arrested with nearly 7,200 kg of contraband 'bhang' (hemp) here, a police officer said Friday.

"During a vehicle checking drive, six men, who were on two trucks, were nabbed Thursday late night in Madion locality of Lucknow by the sleuths of Special Task Force (STF)," Uttar Pradesh Additional Director General of Police (law and order) Brij Lal told reporters.

He said the arrested men are a part of a drug racket involved in illegal supply of bhang to various districts of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. They have booked under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
