Jalandhar: A man was arrested on the charge of murdering his wife in a village here in the district, police said today.
Lakhbir Singh was arrested in the wee hours last night, police said, adding the accused had strangulated his wife Kulwinder Kaur at their residence in village Wadala over some argument. According to them, Lakhbir, a farmer was a habitual drinker and had a heated argument with his wife on the fateful night. A case under section 302 of India Panel Code (IPC) was registered against Lakhbir, they said, adding the body had been sent for post-mortem at the local civil hospital.
