Tirunelveli: Six members of a goldsmith's family were found dead in their house at Palayankottai, near here today, police said.

They committed suicide by consuming cyanide powder used for cleaning gold, the sources said.

Financial problem is said to have driven the family members to take their lives.

The dead included the 60-year-old goldsmith, Gopalachari, police added.
