New York: Two mosques in the US were vandalised over the weekend shocking Muslims living in the states of Florida and Pennsylvania.
The south Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations reported that shots were fired at a Miami mosque and Islamic school in Florida on Thursday.
The Miami Dade police yesterday found bullet holes on a wall of the Masjid An-Noor Islamic School.
We are further investigating into the matter, the police said today.
However in the second incident, unidentified miscreants have splashed red paint on the front steps of the Oakland Mosque at Pittsburgh in Pennsylvania hours before the Friday prayers, the the council said today.
"The paint, splattered across the front steps and railings, greeted an estimated 1,000 worshipers as they turned out for prayer," the leading Muslim advocacy group reported.
The mosque property had been vandalized once before in its 15-year history, it said.
