Vellore: Ex-servicemen would go on a fast on January 26 to press their charter of demands.

The decision was taken at a meeting of National Ex-servicemen's coordinated committee s state executive held at Tirupattur on Thursday.

The Ex-service men want modification of the pension scales as those announced under the sixth pay commission was low, committee sources said.

They had sent separate letters to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Defence Minister on the matter, they said.

If no modification (in pension) is made, the ex-service men will go on a fast at the India Gate in Delhi and in Tamil Nadu on Jan 26, they said.
