Two Nepalese held with guns
Saturday, January 03, 2009 21:06 [IST]

Sitamarhi: Two armed Nepalese nationals were on Saturday beaten up after an altercation in Sitamarhi district, the police said.

Superintendent of police Kshatranil Singh said that two Nepalese youths picked a quarrel with locals at Yadupatti village under Choraut block of the district and pulled out handguns.

"The outsiders, who were later confirmed as Nepalese citizens were handed over to the authorities," Singh said, adding a 9mm pistol and a country-made revolver were seized from them.

The two were identified as Sushil Kumar Jha and Dipak Kumar Singh of Bathnaha village under Jaleshwar police station of Mahotri district of Nepal adjoining Sitamarhi.

The SP said the two were admitted to a government hospital at Sursand and information about them, including whether they had any criminal antecedants, were being sought from the Nepalese authorities.
