Newsmaker of 2008 award for ISRO chairman

Thiruvananthapuram: ISRO Chairman G Madhavan Nair has been selected for Newsmaker of 2008 award by viewers of Manorama News.

In an SMS poll conducted by Manorama online, Nair emerged successful beating Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vayalar Ravi, cricketer S Sreesanth and cine artist Priyamani.

Nair forged ahead others by the success of Chandrayaan-I mission, which boosted the reputation of the country, a release by Manorama News said today.

The winners of this honour in the previous years included Kerala Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan and CPI-M Kerala Secretary Pinarayi Vijayan.
