Two detained at Delhi Airport
Sunday, January 04, 2009 17:09 [IST]
Delhi: "The security men stopped the van at the first check barrier of the airport and after sensing suspicion pressed sniffer dogs into action. They were later handed over to the IGIA police station for further probe," a CISF officer said.

The incident comes nearly a month after the airport experienced commotion after gun shot sounds were reportedly heard in the early hours of December 5 last year, throwing security officials and passengers into a tizzy.

As the drama unfolded that day, it was said that a white Qualis car, during the intensive checking drive, jumped the queue and sped away.

A CISF Quick Reaction Team (QRT) Gypsy also gave chase to the vehicle which had a Haryana number plate but returned soon as the men in the vehicle felt it was more important for them to secure the airport.

Days after after this incident, the CISF QRT was equipped with a new set of Gypsies to deal with any emergency situation.
