Tripura govt declares holiday today

Agartala: Government offices, educational institutions and financial institutions in Tripura today remained closed as the state government today declared a holiday to mourn the death of former chief minister Sudhir Ranjan Majumder.

Many shopkeers also downed the shutters as a mark of respect to the departed leader.

Majumder (75), who was chief minister for four years since 1988 died yesterday following a cardiac arrest at Agartala medical college and hospital.
