New Delhi: The UPA government will inject Rs 100,000 crore in the Indian economy in the next 100 days to insulate it to a large extent from the global economic meltdown and stimulate the demand.
"In the next 100 days, an expected Rs 100,000 crore will be injected in the Indian economy," Congress spokesman Manish Tewari said. He said the private sector too will play a part in this.
Tewari said the decision has been taken by the UPA at the behest of its chairperson Sonia Gandhi.
The spokesman said two stimulus packages have already been announced on December 7 and January 2.
The Congress leader said increase in productivity, checking inflation and increased employment were the three planks at which the government was looking at.
