Elite police force created in Ghaziabad
Tuesday, January 06, 2009 08:34 [IST]

Ghaziabad: In the wake of many terrorist strikes in India, the Ghaziabad police Monday constituted an elite force to combat terror.

The 100 member force of the Quick Response Team (QRT) would be trained and equipped to fight the terror.

"The force would be trained and equipped to handle any emergency or terror like situations," superintendent of police Vijay Bhushan said.

A weeklong training would be given to the force at the police lines in batches of 25, following which they would be trained with the 47th Battalion of PAC.

The curriculum, which is divided into four capsules, would coach the QRT with high levels of physical and mental training.
