Bodies of two missing miners found in Dhanbad

Dhanbad: The bodies of two employees of Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), who went missing inside a colliery, were today pulled out from the mine pit at Lodhana here, even as the search is on for the third miner, a senior BCCL official said here today.

The rescuers pulled out the bodies of BCCL's senior overman S N Singh and miner Ramanand Bhuyan, BCCL (Lodna Area) general manager T K Banerjee said, adding that search operation is on for the third missing miner C Bhuyan.

The three BCCL employees yesterday went inside a colliery to check gas points and did not return till late last night, prompting the authorities to send the rescue team inside the mine.

BCCL would give compensation to the families of the deceased as per norms laid out, the general manager said.
