Noida: A 30-year-old man was today arrested on charges of attempting to rape a minor in Noida, a day after an alleged gangrape of an MBA student here shocked the country.

The 14-year-old girl was in her room when the ladlord's newphew Rajan Kumar allegedly tried to rape her in village Chhajarsi, police said. The girl raised an alarm after which neighbours came to her rescue and nabbed Kumar. He was beaten by the residents who later handed him over to the police.

A case has been registered. A 24-year-old MBA student was allegedly gangraped in a car while she was returning from a mall in Noida last evening.
