Blast outside Colombo affects train services

Colombo: A powerful blast occured along the railway track at Mount Lavinia area in the Sri Lankan capital today, disrupting train services but there were no casualties, police said.

Train services were affected, following the blast in the area at around 8.30 PM, as a portion of the railway track was damaged in the blast, they said.

Police suspect Tamil rebels to be behind the act though no outfit has so far claimed responsibility.
