Korba: A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against a school teacher here for causing loss of sight in one eye to a class two student by poking her with a pin, police said today.

The FIR against Parasram Bhaina, a teacher at Saraswati Shikshan Sansthan in Jurali village, was filed by Jagsai Patel, father of the student, Sweta Patel, yesterday, Katghora police station in-charge Lalji Shukla told PTI.

Bhaina, allegedly enraged over Sweta s inablility to answer a question, beat her up and poked her in the eye with a pin on November 19 last year, Shukla said.

The police are now on the lookout for Bhaina who is absconding, he said.

Meanwhile, the school has said it would bear all treatment costs and take neccessary action against the teacher.
