Voting in polls was against God's will: Geelani

Srinagar: Chairman of hardline faction of Hurriyat Conference Syed Ali Shah Geelani today said people who voted in the recent assembly elections helped the "oppressor" and asked them to seek forgiveness from Almighty Allah for participating in elections.

"Those who voted in the recently held Assembly polls should go for repentance and seek forgiveness from almighty Allah because they have committed a big blunder by helping the oppressor," Geelani told a gathering of people.

He alleged that he was being denied permission to offer Friday prayers and meet people over the past couple of months.
