Relief for royal as court rejects cops plea
Saturday, January 10, 2009 09:10 [IST]
Jaipur: A local court today dismissed bail cancellation application of police against royal Vijit Singh in connection with a hit and run case.

District Judge (Jaipur City) Sharad Chandra Shrotriya dismissed the application as the court found no ground to incriminate him to such an extent so that his bail may be required to be cancelled.

The court did not find any violation of the terms and conditions of bail and further also prima facie did not find Vijit indulged in tampering with evidence or influencing the witnesses.

Vijit Singh, step grandson of Rajamata Gayatridevi, was arrested and enlarged on bail within a shortwhile after the Volkswagen Touareg V6 TDI he was driving hit a group of students at Gandhi Nagar, killing one of them.
