Gumla: Four villagers were killed by suspected Maoists in separate incidents in Gumla, Garwah and Latehar districts in Jharkhand besides vandalising machinery used for road construction, police said.
A group of about thirty suspected Maoists caught the two villagers Charku Nayak and Vijay Nayak at Anjan village in Gumla district and fired on them from close range early today, police said.
Their bodies were recovered, the police added.
In two other separate incidents in Garwah and Latehar districts last night, suspected Maoists killed a 50-year-old villager and set on fire the machinery of a construction company, the police said.
At Garwah s Khuri village, a group of armed naxalites picked up one Raghunath Yadav and shot him dead.
In the third incident, another group of naxalites set on fire a generator set and other material of a road construction company in Latehar s Hisri village, the police said. Source : PTI
