At least 30 killed in Peru bus accident
Sunday, January 11, 2009 02:10 [IST]

Lima: At least 30 people were killed and 20 others injured Saturday when a passenger bus in which they were travelling veered off the road and fell into a deep ravine in Peru’s northern province of Chota, EFE reported.

The accident occurred at 2.00 p.m. near Querocoto town. The injured were rushed to hospitals, the police said.

Low visibility due to thick fog could be one of the factors that caused the accident, an official said.
