MP BJP prepares for LS polls under RSS guidelines
Sunday, January 11, 2009 13:46 [IST]

Bhopal: Keeping in view the next Lok Sabha polls slated to be held in April or May this year, the ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh has begun preparations for them under guidelines from the Rashtriya Seva Sangh (RSS).

Senior BJP leaders including Chief Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the State unit President, Narendra Singh Tomar recently visited the local Sangh office where RSS strategists advised them to prepare for the Lok Sabha elections on the basis of work done for the Assembly polls last November.

RSS strategists acquainted the BJP leaders with their expectations and discussed the criteria to be followed in choosing candidates for the Lok Sabha elections.

Also keeping in view the new challenges, the BJP was asked to keep ministers in rein so that they do not face any avoidable public controversy.

The sources said that RSS strategists asked the Chief Minister to take steps to complete unfinished development works and control "growing indiscipline" in the party.
