Sunny morning greets Delhiites

New Delhi: Delhiites woke up to a sunny morning today with the minimum temperature settling at 6.6 degrees Celsius.

The minimum had dropped by two degree Celsius this morning as against yesterday while the maximum was recorded at 21 degrees Celsius.

The Met department said the maximum temperature will hover around 20 degrees Celsius while the minimum will be around seven degrees C tomorrow.

There may be fog in the morning and mainly clear sky throughout the day, the weathermen said.

January this year has been warmer so far as compared to last year when the minimum temperature dropped below five degrees a number of times.

The season's lowest temperature was recorded on January 2 when the minimum temperature plummeted to four degrees. In 2008,the lowest temperature during the month was recorded on January 2 when the mercury dipped to 1.9 degrees.

The record for January's minimum temperature is on 16th of 1935 when the temperature fell to -0.6 degree Celsius. The minimum in 2006 had slumped to 0.2 degree Celsius.
