Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh today recorded an average dip of 2.4 degree Celsius in most parts of the state with Muzaffarnagar being the coldest at 4.7 degree Celsius.
However, no fresh case of death due to cold was reported in the past 24 hours and the toll stood at 76.
According to the meteorological office here, an average dip of 2.4 degree Celsius was recorded in most parts of the state during the past 24 hours.
The minimum temperature recorded in the state capital and Bareilly was 9.0 degree Celsius while mercury touched 9.4 degree Celsius in Kanpur and hovered at 9.1 degree Celsius at Moradabad. Muzaffarnagar was the coldest place in the state with mercury reading 4.7 degree Celsius.
Agra reeled at a minimum of six degree Celsius while in Meerut the mercury plummeted to 5.5 degree Celsius.
The minimum temperature at Gorakhpur was 9.3 degree Celsius and at Varanasi it stood at 11.6 degree Celsius. The forecast for the next 24 hours is clear skies with mist forming during the night and early morning.
