Ex-prez Venkataraman admitted to hospital

New Delhi: Former President R Venkataraman was today admitted to the Army Hospital Research and Referral after he complained of dehydration.

"R Venkataraman was admitted this afternoon following complaints of dehydration. His condition is now stable," Army Hospital Research and Referral, Administrative head Brigadier A K Sharma told PTI.

Doctors are attending to him, Sharma said. He, however, refused to go into details.

Ninety-eight year old Venkataraman had served as the eighth President of the country.

His tenure was from July 25,1987 to July 25,1992.
