DPN asks govt for efficient mechanism
Tuesday, January 13, 2009 12:22 [IST]
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) today asked the state government to evolve a concrete mechanism for quick and efficient implementation of the promises made to the people during the recent assembly elections.

"The post-election scenario has offered boundless opportunities but great challenges as well. The expectations of the common people have also increased," DPN President Ghulam Hussan Mir said after a meeting of party s executive committee here.

Mir, who retained his Gulmarg assembly constituency, said the new dispensation should identify the priorities and build consensus among the political parties, regarding the resolution of all the major problems faced by the state.

"Efficient governance, eradication of corruption, employment generation and addressing the problems of the employees, working class and the farmer community demand immediate attention," he said, adding there was no room for complacency or the half-hearted approach as practiced in the past.

He also demanded initiation of an inter-regional dialogue for reconciliation and unity to pave the way for peace, progress and development.

Mir assured his party's full support to the new government for all its people friendly measures and efficient governance.
