Lucknow: Two labourers were killed and three others were injured when they got trapped in a heap of mud while digging a ditch in Thakurganj area here, police said today.

The incident occurred yesterday when some digging work was being carried out by a private firm for Jal Nigam.

The two labourers who died have been identified as Kamlesh (30) and Kanahiyalal (35), they said, adding that other three injured were later rescued and rushed to a nearby hospital.
