Srinagar: The Awami National Conference (ANC) has convened an extraordinary meeting of its working committee on January 15 to elect a new president following the death of its founder president and former chief minister G M Shah on January six, a party spokesman said.
The ANC, a breakaway group of National Conference, was formed on July 2,1984 after Shah toppled the government of his brother-in-law Farooq Abdullah.
Shah was the president of the party till his death.
