J-K police recovers 85 kgs of contraband in Dec

Jammu: The state police arrested 13 persons and recovered 85 kilograms of contraband during the last month, in response to its special drive against smuggling of such items.

"We have launched a drive against smuggling of narcotic material in Jammu district and recovered 85 kgs of narcotic material and arrested 13 drug peddlers during last one month", Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jammu, Manohar Singh told reporters here today.

During the period, the state police also seized fake currency with a face value of Rs 52,000 and arrested two persons in this regard, he said.

The police also recovered Rs 1.25 lakh meant for hawala transaction in the previous month.
