New Delhi: Several areas in the city today faced power cuts for varying duration as distribution company BSES carried out up-gradation and maintenance work.
A BSES official said many areas in East, West, South and Central Delhi faced power cuts for as long as 10 to 14 hours because of the maintenance work.
The areas that were affected included Greater Kailash-I, Kailash Colony, Hauz Khas, Lajpat Nagar, Patel Nagar, Chandni Chowk and Daryaganj.
In East Delhi, many localities in Mayur Vihar-phase I faced power cuts from 10 am to 4 pm while parts of Nand Nagri, Krishna Nagar and Laxmi Nagar did not have power supply from 11 am to 4 pm.
In West Delhi, the affected areas included parts of Palam, Vikaspuri, Uttam Nagar, Jaffarpur, Janakpuri, Hari Nagar and Shiv Nagar.
The maintenance work will continue tomorrow in certain areas in the East, West, South and Central Delhi due to which there will be disruption in power supply in these areas.
An official of the power distribution company said power supply will be affected in parts of Baljeet Nagar, Nehru Nagar and Patel Nagar from 9 am to 3 pm, while there will be no supply of power in many areas in Dwarka from 10 am to to 4 pm.
Power supply will also be affected in parts of Geeta Colony, Karawal Nagar, Minto Road and Darya Ganj from 11 am to 4 pm tomorrow, he said. Source : PTI |
