New Delhi: Firing a fresh salvo on Congress leader Digvijay Singh in their ongoing verbal skirmishes, Samajwadi Party general secretary Amar Singh today demanded that Congress leadership should take a call on his future participation in UP seat-sharing talks between the allies.
"Anybody in our party criticising Soniaji will be expelled. (Similarly) It is Congress call whether to keep him (Digvijay) in negotiations or not," he told reporters after meeting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh along with party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
The SP general secretary, however, clarified that though he is nobody to criticise Digvijay Singh, the Congress leadership should take a call on the matter.
The SP is angry at constant jibes aimed at its leadership allegedly by Congress leaders including Digvijay Singh and Satyavrat Chaturvedi.
In fact, in a statement to the Prime Minister, Yadav lamented reports quoting Congress sources appearing in media in which SP is accused of allying with Congress for furthering its self interest.
The former UP chief minister in the statement has also requested the PM and Sonia Gandhi to "intervene" and curb its leaders from saying such things.
Amar Singh said that while SP leaders have full faith in Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi, their level of faith in Congress managers has gone down considerably.
