At least three people died and 60 were injured when two passenger trains collided in central China's Hunan province early Monday.
The collision, which derailed several carriages and a locomotive, took place at the railway station in Hunan's Chenzhou city, state media reported.
A passenger train from the provincial capital, Changsha, to the southern city of Shenzhen hit another train travelling in the opposite direction from Shenzhen to the city of Tongren, the reports said.
Liu Zhijun, China's minister of railways, set off for Chenzhou, which is 300 km from Changsha, to oversee rescue work.
