Six pilgrims were killed today and 12 others injured when a tempo in which they were travelling collided with a trolley here, police said.
The mishap took place this morning on Kurduwadi road when the vehicle carrying 30 pilgrims met with the accident and overturned, they said.
The victims were heading towards Pandharpur, a pilgrimage in Western Maharashtra for the Ekadashi fair killing five persons on the spot, they said.
The deceased have been identified as Raosaheb Namdeo Ghadge (30), Duraji Kashinath Ghadge (25), Chhoti Shivram Ghadge (20), Mira Baban Mote (13), Shamrao Gyandeo Ghadge (30), police said.
The injured have been admitted to government hospital here, they said adding the condition of one Lata Radhesham Ghadge (13) was very critical.
