Sameera Reddy may appear smiling in the photograph but then that's only because our photographer asked her to. In reality, the actor is yet to recover for the shock she got a few days ago.
A few days ago, Sameera came to know that her detailed profile and photographs are doing the rounds of a prominent Indian matrimonial site.
"It was nothing less than a shock," she said, adding, "I got to know about it through a friend who said that I have matrimonial profile. According to the profile, I have even put up details about the kind of a man I intend to marry. And before I know, the news is all over the internet. Do you think that I need to go to a site to declare that I want to marry? Now I am wondering whether I should sue the company or send them a notice?"
She has asked her publicist to explore the legal options to ensure that her name is not used to lure more surfers to the site. "Last I heard is that they have taken that profile out of the site. But this is so disgusting. Now, everybody is asking me when I am getting married," she said.
Sameera is now gearing up for the release of Priyadarshan's next film where she plays a Punjabi kudi. She insists that it is not a typical dumb woman character but actually the catalyst that sends her boyfriend Ram Mishra on a treasure hunt again.
When asked about her other projects, she seems kicked about playing a Naxalite in Ananth Mahadevan's Red Alert where her character is based on a real-life character of a battered village woman.
"The woman is gang-raped and that too by the cops. This turns her against the system and ultimately into a Naxalite. So, you can well imagine the turmoil that I faced when I had to portray this character on-screen. It was the most difficult role of my life. Apart from that, I am doing a Nagesh Kukunoor film called Yeh Hosla," she said.

Yana's the ultimate item girl: Sameera
Sameera Reddy feels 'item girls' should not be used as a derogatory term. "The term has suffered because of certain people trying to brand themselves as item girls and make it sound cheap. To me, the ultimate item girl will always be Yana Gupta who can sizzle up the screen any day. It's just how you see it. If you make it sound cheap, it's cheap."
