A day after DNA reported how Mumbai International Airport Limited (Mial) had begun charging people Rs130 (above) just to drive in and pick up passengers at the Santa Cruz terminal, the scheme was dropped. Now, you can wait for your guest for up to five minutes outside the arrival lounge. Longer than that and you will have to keep your vehicle in the car park or endure the embarrassment of having it towed away. Earlier, Mial had said it would reduce the charge for a five-minute wait to Rs60. But by evening, it dropped the idea entirely in the face of protests from fliers. --Naveeta Singh
