Sufi shrine attacked
SRINAGAR: Tension gripped the north Kashmir town of Pattan on Tuesday after militants lobbed a grenade at the revered Sufi shrine of Syed Jamal-ud-Din Bukhari in Astan Mohalla-Palhalan on Monday night, injuring two. "People are angry with militants, who are not even sparing shrines," Baramulla SSP Viplav Kumar said. This is not the first time that ultras have targeted Muslim shrines. In November 2006, six worshipers were killed when militants hurled a grenade at a mosque in Pulwama district.

Kapoor warns of another 26/11
NEW DELHI: Army chief General Deepak Kapoor said on Tuesday more 26/11-type terror attacks were possible. "We have to take all steps to prevent Mumbai-type attacks. We cannot rule out more such attacks," he said. Asked whether there were any terror alerts in recent times, he said South Asia was infested with terror groups. Be it India, Afghanistan or Pakistan, "we have to collectively battle such threats". -PTI
