CM: I don't need anyone's
endorsement for my work
Srikanth Hunasavadi. Bangalore:
The beleaguered chief minister, BS Yeddyurappa, on Tuesday declared that he does not need anyone's certificate for the efforts he is making to effectively implement the rehabilitation and relief works in the flood-affected districts of the state.
Returning from a tour of the flood-affected districts, Yeddyurappa regretted that wherever he went over the past four days, rehabilitation work had begun but regrettably, the local MLAs were only conspicuous by their absence. He said though the party had the powers, it would not take any action against these MLAs as it might lead to another controversy.

Making it clear that he was not bothered by the developments on the political front, the chief minister said that he would continue with his work on ensuring speedy rehabilitation in the flood-affected districts.
He said he spoke to senior party leader Venkaiah Naidu earlier in the evening and had been summoned to Delhi to discuss the political developments.
The chief minister said he would visit the national capital on November 5 or 6 to meet party central leaders and also Prime Minister Manmohan Singh over central funds for the rehabilitation work.
On the claims of Reddy brothers that the high command has not said Yeddyurappa would remain the chief minister, he said they don't know what is happening in New Delhi.
"If necessary I am ready to hold discussions with the Karunakara Reddy. I will accept that there are some lapses, but we can sort them out. I will all the tactics to save my chair. I can be a Chanakya too," he added.
"If national high command suggests any compromise formula, I will accept it. I hope that national leaders will take the right decision to protect the state's interest. I am ready to face all the consequence," he added.
Reacting to the opposition parties allegations that administration had collapsed in the state, the chief minister said this was not first state facing political uncertainty. Several leaders have faced political uncertainty. I am ready to face all challenges," he said.
