Yeddyurappa must go: Karunakara
Srikanth Hunasavadi. Bangalore
Revenue minister Karunakara Reddy and health minister B Sriramulu on Tuesday reiterated their demand for a change in leadership.
"We are firm; we are not going back on our demand for a change in the leadership. We have put our demand before the party high command, which will take an appropriate decision on it," Karunakara Reddy told reporters here.
Categorically stating that BJP national president Rajanath Singh has not said anything on the issue of changing the leadership, Karunakara Reddy claimed that all such views ascribed to Rajnath Singh were, in fact, media creations.
He said the chief minister was making false claims that the high command had asked him to continue.
Stating that the issue of leadership change was not a small one that could be decided in one or two hours, he said the issue might not be resolved even in two or three days and might call for longer time.
Earlier, Reddy conducted a video conference with the deputy commissioners of 12 flood-affected districts and reviewed the implementation of flood relief works.
He said the state government had released Rs1,217 crore for flood-affected districts and 80% of relief works had already been completed, while the rest would be completed within a week's time.
